SOUTH GEORGIA

We were greeted on the beach at Salisbury Plain by a lot of angry bull fur seals but eventually got past them and on to more King Penguins (sorry).

 This youngster had gotten away from the rookery and was pestering its parent?for food without any success..

The afternoon landing at Prion Island to see the wandering albatross chicks was cancelled due to adverse wind conditions, so we had a zodiac cruise around Fortuna Bay.

Having missed out on Prion Island at the first attempt schedules were adjusted to fit in a quick visit,conditions were pretty awful very windy and cold but we saw the Wandering Albatross youngster flexing his wings..it will soon leave the island and wander the southern ocean until it returns to breed as an adult.

We have now arrived at ELSEHUL our final stop in South Georgia,we were greeted here by a fly past of Grey Headed Albatross,unfortunately the light was poor and didn't show them off too well.

The weather was still dull and overcast as we set off in the Zodiacs to explore the Macaroni Penguin colony,and with a big swell photography was challenging but I did my best to capture the punk penguins.
