NOVEMBER REMEMBERED- BLACK, WHITE AND A FEW SHADES OF GREY.

Feeling more like my old self now so have felt able to venture out a bit more and have been rewarded with some nice birds Osprey ,Sabines Gull,Grey Phalarope,Great Grey Shrike and Pallas` Warbler the rarities while locally the first Razorbill and Red Throated Diver in the harbour and a surprising Great White Egret  in the River Dour, finishing up with a superb male Kingfisher in Russell Gardens and Short Eared Owls at Sandwich.

- The bush telegraph told me that Jamie Partridge had found a Pallas` Warbler in the Pines Gardens and as I had only seen one before and that from a distance I hopped in the car and joined a small group of birders there. Jamies extra sensory hearing kept track of the little bird which eventually showed well.

This was probably the biggest surprise finding a Great White Egret in the middle of Dover,we have all got used to seeing its Little cousin all along the  river but this was completely unexpected.

If you want good views of waders the north Kent coast is probably the best place to go locally.
