RETURN TO TIERRA DEL FUEGO.

After 20 days at sea it was good to get back on dry land, although the hotel floor did seem a bit unstable for a while. The Hotel Tolkien sits on the shore of the Beagle Channel and a few of the party had been here five years ago, nothing had changed. We were soon out on the beach looking for new birds.

The next morning we were to have a guided tour with Marcello into the National Park, it started off with reasonably calm overcast conditions which deteriorated into a steady downpour after about an hour we continued doggedly for a while but once we were all soaked  we returned to the hotel to dry out. After lunch conditions had improved and we went to the refuse tip once again.

PROBABLY THE MOST SOUTHERLY BUTTERFLY IN THE WORLD

I am having trouble getting an accurate ID on these two,so I will give them apt English names myself, the above will be the BEAGLE GREY

This appears to be a different butterfly or is it male and female? and this will be the BEAGLE WHITE.
