RETURN OF THE KITTIWAKE

There has been a bit more activity in the harbour this week with more turnstones turning up, 3 redshank on the hoverpad, the female common scoter is surviving somehow but spends most of the time sleeping, also on the old hoverpad.A great crested grebe in the outer harbour today,several Kittiwakes and Mediterranean gulls and a single juvenile common tern have been present.Brent geese have been on the move in small groups of 20-30 birds and 3 shelduck flew over the other morning.
4 pied wagtails 2 rock pipits 3 house sparrows and a black redstart have been seen as well as the usual gulls and cormorants.
