JUNE 2021- RIGHT PLACE WRONG TIME.

I have missed more good birds this month by being in the right place at the wrong time, but more of that later. It started off well enough with the flock[3] of Collared Pratincoles at Dungeness and finally caught up with the long staying Glossy Ibis on the ARC pit,but after that the month was largely a tale of woe.

A long weekend in Norfolk coincided with a wet dull spell so didn`t get to see much at all.
After the rain stopped on Saturday went for a short walk at West Somerton where we found a couple of Barn Owls hunting over some rough ground, one was a very pale bird and stayed distant, but this one came reasonably close, it caught a vole and was flying back to its nest when a Kestrel came out of nowhere and attacked it and forced the owl to the ground, and stole the vole.
