IF ITS TUESDAY

I like to get to Samphire Hoe early ,before the doggers and joggers scare all the birds away, there was a scattering of migrants in the bushes with whitethroats, blackcaps and chiff chaffs and 9 wheatears along the fences above the sea wall, biggest surprise was a jay on the railway fence,a Hoe tick for me and only the third record in fifteen years.
WHEATEAR ON THE FENCE
At this time of late summer the wasp spiders can be found,in the long grass beside the path, look but don`t touch!
WASP SPIDER
Migrant hawkers were also in evidence and this pair were obviously enjoying the warm weather
MIGRANT HAWKERS IN COP.
Another surprise in late afternoon, when an angler asked "wots this bird then?",it was a guillemot interested in his squid bait,an early harbinger of colder days ahead.
Another good count of common blues and red admirals  on the transect with over 100 of the former and an impressive 33 admirals, several adonis blues are on the wing too.
