Since returning from Norwich I `ve had my new computer set up with the kind help of Mr Reidy so am now back in the land of the blog.
I have been out three times, once to Ham Street and a couple of quick strolls around Lydden downs, had first sightings of marbled white at Lydden on wednesday last, white admiral at HSWoods on thursday and today at Lydden on a warm sunny but breezy morning I bagged small skipper, ringlet an early gatekeeper and a possible essex skipper.

MEADOW BROWN at Ham Street

SMALL SKIPPERS out in good numbers on the downs.
MARBLED WHITE on great knapweed
I`m pretty sure this is an Essex skipper but only got this single shot before it disappeared,Essex have black tips ,Small have ginger tips to the underside of antennae.
Pyramid orchids are also out in good numbers at the moment.
