MAY 2020 LOCKDOWN CONTINUES

At the fag end of May still in virtual isolation which is more than can be said for some with all the Cummings and goings in government circles.
The garden list has stagnated through the month with only moths providing variety.
I have ventured out locally a couple of times and with the rules slackening had a stroll around Worth Marshes earlier this week.
 BLACKBIRD serenades morning noon and evening.

 ANOTHER TWO RED KITES passed over early in the month.

Cath went to visit her sister in law at Waltham so I took the opportunity to visit Bonsai Bank saw a few Dukes but not that many and this micro moth pyrausta nigrata,also an almost pure white Lady Orchid

A walk around the village gave me this summer plumaged Grey Wagtail in the chalk stream.

Now for an update on the Moths found in the garden since the last post.
 LIME HAWK MOTH a first for my garden and its the unusual brown form.

The first tentative birding trip since the 23rd March was to Worth Marshes,it was quite strange being out and about again especially talking to other birders at 2m anti social distance. Apart from the Sedge Warbler nothing else was within range of the camera,. the first Cuckoo and Hobby of the year were spotted as well.

Before allotment watering duties I had a quick walk around the field behind and found both Common and Small Blues getting ready to roost.
