A REAL ROYAL VISITOR.

August was off to a flying start with lots of Painted Ladies Wall Browns and Red Admirals on the wing and the last of the local butterflies of the year emerging at Temple Ewell,the Silver Spotted Skipper.

News of a rare migrant butterfly at South Foreland reached me through the airwaves on Thursday last
 THE QUEEN OF SPAIN FRITILLARY
 QUEEN OF SPAIN FRITILLARY,I was lucky to see it as after a few minutes it chased another butterfly off and didn`t return.

Friday afternoon I returned to the valley for a second helping of the QoS and eventually it was located by Marc Heath and we were treated to a REAL royal performance.
