BAYWATCH

Spent the day at Sandwich Bay,first the ancient highway produced curlew lapwing golden plover and two black tailed godwits.Rest Harrow had wigeon, teal and shoveller. From the obs walked towards the point as far as the wader roost where there were turnstone, ringed plover ,oystercatcher, sanderling, dunlin ,knot, grey plover, curlew and numerous bar tailed godwits,
RINGED PLOVER
On the return walk the shore larks were found on the beach and the dartford warbler showed briefly in the sea buckthorn, just popping up for a second to allow a dodgy record shot.

After a refreshing mug of coffee at the obs I decided to go the extra mile and walk to Roaring Gutter on Worth Marshes where there were more wigeon teal and mallard plus a few gadwall, but the big prize was the great white egret near the bridge,it was grounded at first but soon took flight and headed to the far side of the railway.
GREAT WHITE EGRET
A very good days birding with a total of 58 species seen.
