SUNDAY MORNING CLIFF TOP AMBLE

Here are a few pictures from Sunday mornings amble around Langdon Cliffs at Dover.
 SMALL TORTOISHELL-a fresh butterfly the result of the successful winter hibernation of its parents.
SPECKLED  YELLOW  several day flying moths can be seen at the moment
 YELLOW SHELL-a superbly marked moth

 BEE ORCHIDS are in short supply this year
 PYRAMID ORCHIDS are just starting to bloom,there are lots.
 MARBLED WHITE when these appear it must be summer.
 COMMON SPOTTED ORCHIDS in abundance.
 Another MARBLED WHITE,it is really a member of the brown family.
 ORANGETIP an unusual sighting with the marbled whites out.
 BURNET COMPANION another day flying moth.
 LARGE SKIPPERS-note the hooked antennae
 and blotches on the wings
 and SMALL SKIPPERS are emerging. look for the orange tips to the antennae
