DEAD INDIAN
We had booked a visit to the Alhambra Palace before we left, surprisingly the only free daytime slots were at the weekend,I suppose there are no coach /school parties then. The trip to Granada took about two and a half hours on fairly quiet roads, then a wait of two hours before our afternoon slot, its all very efficient, but don`t be late or you won`t get in.The gardens are full of water features and all sorts of exotic plants and the palace itself is a marvel of moorish architecture.Unfortunately the Lion fountain was being renovated but the lions have been cleaned and are on display internally under armed guard so no photos Iam afraid. You get about half an hour actually inside the palace, though you can stay in the grounds afterwards. On the way home at Campillos we stopped at a lagoon where we had noticed lots of birds in the morning,I  had guessed correctly that most would be coots, but was pleasantly surprised to see White Headed Ducks and Red Crested Pochards amongst the other common ducks and grebeson the far side of the lake..I have been to the area before  and my memory was jolted into action by the rock form at Antequerra of a dead red indian chief,I leave you with the thought,am I going mad?
