A POST CARD FROM SCOTLAND

A weeks holiday in Scotland took in a visit to Glasgow on saturday night,Fort William,Oban,Glencoe,Perth,Dunkeld,Edinburgh and North Berwick. Here are a few pictorial memories for you to share-
Saturday evening on Sauchiehall Street was fairly quiet ,I think it has been sanitized.
Mackintosh original stained glass in the TOLBOOTH PUB,a more interesting and authentic place.

LESSER BLACK BACKED GULLS are the street cleaners of Glasgow,Perth and Edinburgh.
After a hearty breakfast in our Premier Inn we headed north for Fort William calling at Glasdrum Wood en route to try and see the chequered skipper the uks rarest butterfly.
Reversing into a parking space and opening the door a small butterfly flitted from one flower to another, could I be that lucky?indeed I could, there before my very eyes a Chequered skipper was happily feeding -brilliant.
We moved into the wood and following the advice of Mr Barkham followed the power lines and found several more skippers and small pearl bordered fritillaries.Fortunately we took this opportunity as the next three days were dull and damp.
